Riddell Estate is a stunningly beautiful country wedding venue located in the Scottish Borders, in the heart of the Ale Water Valley.
The valley is the home of a wide range of high-quality wedding services, including catering, marquee hire, lighting and marquee decoration, flower arranging, wedding cake specialists, musicians, beauty therapy, make-up artists, photographers and ceremonial services, all within a few miles of the Estate. Our wedding guests also enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, such as walking, horse riding, fishing, water sports, cycling, clay pigeon shooting, and golf. Canine wedding guests are welcome too!
Riddell House offers luxury accommodation for up to 10 people with 5 delightful double en-suite bedrooms, one of which is ground floor accessible, all with magnificent views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.
House guests enjoy exclusive use of the tennis court, private gardens and the beautiful Daffodil Lawn with magnificent views of the valley, which provides a perfect setting for marquee weddings of up to 150 guests.
Small, intimate weddings of up to 22 guests can be accommodated in Riddell House with the option of a pergola style tent over our beautiful dining room terrace to host the champagne reception before the wedding breakfast. The wedding ceremony for small weddings may be hosted in the romantic Italianate private garden which has a wonderful array of statues and floral archways.
For medium sized weddings of up to 150 guests, a specially designed events car parking and services area is located adjacent to the marquee site.
The house is let on a self-catering basis via our agents Unique Cottages Scotland.
Guests at Riddell House enjoy the services of local top-quality private chefs and caterers who deliver delicious lunch and dinner food to the house and provide bespoke cooking and dining service for special occasions such as wedding parties.
Hot tubs are a popular optional extra. These are hired through a local company.
